Ganolife Coffee Is Better

K-Cup Inventor: I Feel Bad I Had the Idea They're expensive, create waste, and "it's not like drip coffee's tough to make." Erik ShermanMar 4th 2015 11:00AM Investors usually take pride in their creations. But there are exceptions. Alfred Nobel so regretted the military uses of his invention, dynamite, that he founded the peace prize, as the foundation named for him relates. Robert Propst, inventor of the office cubicle, reportedly "lamented his unwitting contribution to what he called monolithic insanity," according to Business Insider. Then there's John Sylvan. If the man isn't familiar, his brainchild -- the K-Cup system -- will be. The single-cup brew system is wildly popular, accounting for more than a quarter of ground coffee category sales in 2013, as Quartz reported. By 2018, some analyst estimates say that consumers will spend as much on coffee pods as on ground coffee, reported the Seattle Times. That's not even counting the hot cocoa, tea, and other drinks that can be generated by the system and the many companies that make drink pods. And Sylvan is sorry. "I don't have one," he told the Atlantic. "They're kind of expensive to use. Plus it's not like drip coffee is tough to make." But it's not cost and unnecessary convenience that fuels Sylvan's regret. Nor is it having sold his share of the company for $50,000 in 1997. Keurig Green Mountain has a market value of nearly $21 billion. No, what leaves him with second and third thoughts is that the K-Cup has become an environmental disaster according to many. In 2013, Keurig Green Mountain produced 8.3 billion K-Cups, or enough to wrap the equator an estimated 10.5 times, according to Mother Jones. By 2014, the number of cups hit 9.8 billion, according to NPR. Those cups aren't recyclable, which means they go right into landfills and the materials used to make them are lost for reuse. There are two problems on the recycling front. One is that the cup, filter, grounds, and foil top of so completely put together that separating the parts for recycling is impractical, according to the Atlantic report. As NPR pointed out, even if you could separate the parts, the cup itself is made of No. 7 composite plastic, and few recycling facilities can handle it. The K-Cup has become legendary. There's even a YouTube video that critiques the environmental implications by way of a short mock horror movie, where an alien monster is constructed of them. That's why Sylvan told the Atlantic, "I feel bad sometimes that I ever did it." The company claims that it is working on a more environmentally-sensitive version and that 100 percent of the cups will be recyclable by 2020. But Sylvan doesn't seem convinced. "I told them how to improve it, but they don't want to listen," he told the Atlantic. Please go to www.ganolifevo.com/wwammcafe for more information and how to order Ganolife Gourmet Coffee today.

Benefits of Green Coffee - Weight Loss Coffee Bean Extract
Green Coffee Beans are rich with a substance known as Chlorogenic Acid. Studies suggest that chlorogenic acid inhibits the formation of glucose in the liver and promotes metabolism to help reduce extra fat. It is also known to supress appetite and promote the elimination of toxins. GanoLife's Green Coffee 365 is extracted from Green robust coffee beans which are found to have the highest percentage of chlorogenic acid. Green Coffee Bean Extract has been shown as an effective aid when it comes to weight control. When combined with the anti-oxidant rich Ganoderma Lucidum, GanoLife's Green Coffee 365 is the perfect aid to help control weight.

Coffee is a must-have in the morning, but an extract from Green Coffee Beans can help with Weight Loss.

"Green coffee" refers to the raw or unroasted seeds (beans) of Coffee fruits. Coffee is a notable source of caffeine. However, coffee's effects on glycemic control and weight loss have been attributed to it's other components, including chlorogenic acid, quinides, lignans, and trigonelline, all of which have been shown to improve glucose metabolism in animal studies.

Can you get the same effect from drinking a cup of coffee? No, because roasting the coffee beans actually removes the chlorogenic acid. So green coffee bean extract must be processed before the beans are roasted, while they're still in their raw state.

Does your doctor have ties to big pharma? How you'll be able to find out

Does your doctor have ties to big pharma? How you'll be able to find out. By Amanda Cochran. Big pharma routinely pays doctors to promote its products, but soon patients will be able to get a clearer picture about a doctor's possible connections to the companies that make the drugs they may prescribe. The Affordable Care Act includes the Sunshine Act, which requires all pharmaceutical and medical device companies to publicly report all payments to doctors more than $10, according to Charlie Ornstein, a senior editor for the independent, non-profit newsroom ProPublica. The information will be made available in the fall of 2014. "This means patients, for the first time, will have a full window into how closely their doctors work with a pharmaceutical industry and be able to raise this with their doctors if they have questions," he said. The practice of pharmaceutical companies working with doctors to develop new medications to treat conditions and help promote those medications has been in place for decades, but Ornstein, who is investigating this practice, said, "The promotion part has gotten a lot of attention in recent years because drug companies have paid hundreds of millions and sometimes billions of dollars to settle lawsuits that have accused them of improper marketing and giving kickbacks to doctors." Ornstein continued, "It's illegal to give kickbacks to a doctor to prescribe drugs, but it is legal to give money to doctors to help promote your drug. Some doctors make tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars a year beyond their normal practice just for working with the industry." So why should patients be concerned? Ornstein said it's about trust: "When you go to your doctor, you trust that the doctor is giving the best medication for you, but there's a lot of different interests that your doctor has to take in mind in prescribing you drugs," he said. "It makes sense as you're paying more and more for the cost of your medications that they're trying cheaper alternatives first, a generic drug, for example or encouraging you to try non-medication alternatives to reach your goals perhaps first." If you do have questions for your doctor, there are ways to ask the question without sounding confrontational, according to Ornstein. "You can ask about the nature of their payment," he said. "But even if you didn't want to raise the payment (issue), you can ask about other alternatives. You can ask about drugs that your insurance company will cover. You can ask about changing your lifestyle first." In response to this story, Matthew Bennett, senior vice president of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, released a statement to CBS News: "The discovery of new and improved medicines is dependent on research collaborations between physicians and biopharmaceutical companies. Clinical trials sponsored by biopharmaceutical companies have led to breakthroughs for people suffering from cancer and other life-threatening diseases." Asked if there's a negative side to the Sunshine Act, Ornstein said, "There's no question that doctors working with pharma to create new products is in the benefit of all Americans. I think the issue that is controversial is working to help promote those drugs. And many leading academic medical centers and bioethicists say it's perfectly responsible for doctors to work with pharma on the creation of drugs, but leave the marketing to sales representatives, not to doctors." ProPublica has a tool called Dollars for Docs that has a search tool that purports to show whether your health professional received drug company money. © 2014 CBS Interactive Inc. Myths About Caffeine #3

Myth or Fact? Caffeine can make heart disease worse. Myth: Doctors often tell cardiac patients, especially those with high blood pressure, to avoid caffeine. But there’s little proof that it raises the risk of heart attack, sudden death or abnormal heart rhythms. In fact, coffee drinking may reduce risk of heart disease -- one of the benefits of caffeine. People who drank 3-5 cups of coffee a day had the lowest risk of cardiovascular disease, according to a 2013 meta-analysis by Harvard University. Drinking tea – black and green – may also have heart-healthy benefits. “Tea in general seems to have cardiovascular benefits,” says Dr. Messerli, also a cardiologist and director of hypertension at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in Manhattan. “The benefits of tea are probably due to its antioxidant properties,” he says. But not all teas are created equal. Herbal ones, such as chamomile, rosebud and elderberry, don’t have the same antioxidants. Plus, “when you add cream or milk, you may abolish the benefits,” Dr. Messerli says, “because it seems that the milk or the cream prevents the antioxidant substance from acting.” Please go to this site to order Ganolife Gourmet Enriched Coffee. www.ganolifevo.com/wwammcafe

EBOLA Protection with Medicinal Mushrooms

EBOLA Protection with Medicinal Mushrooms? AUTHOR SHARON CORNET The Ebola virus, which kills up to 90% of those who are infected with it, has now entered the United States of America. The Ebola pandemic, which has been followed and quarantined since 1976 in Central Africa, and a more recent outbreak in Western Africa, has caused some American and Canadian doctors to have isolated themselves after returning from countries from the African continent. But is there a cure for Ebola? Could medicinal mushrooms help protect against ebola or even treat it? Most people say there is not possibly a cure, but to fully understand the dilemma, and how the human immune system is attacked in the presence of deadly viruses, is exactly what is needed at a time when our nation is experiencing fear from the unknown factors regarding this kind of hemorrhagic fever. Two Americans are infected with Ebola presently. One of them, Kent Brantly, a 33-year old doctor from Texas, was working at an Ebola treatment center (run by two faith-based organizations: Samaritan’s Purse, and Reuters) in Liberia when he began showing symptoms of having the virus. He was flown to Atlanta in a protective suit so he could be monitored at the Emory University Hospital. The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) told Fox News that Dr. Brantly “appears to be improving, and that’s encouraging.” Nancy Writebol, the second aid worker for another charity, SIM USA, would be expecting treatment soon. Both patients’ progress will be known over the next few days. Improve immunity to treat symptoms of Ebola virus Ebola virus disease is very deadly to the majority of its hosts. How viruses work is still a mysterious process. Those who overcome them typically have a super charged immune system, as well as other factors of health and medical care in place. Currently there is no treatment, vaccine, or cure for Ebola, which is a viral hemorrhagic fever. The symptoms include fever, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and external and internal bleeding. Fluid replacement is crucial as well as fever-reducing medication, and antibiotics that help the immune system fight the virus could also improve chances of survival for the patient. The key to those who survive the Ebola virus depends on the strength of their immune system along with getting proper supportive care at a medical facility. Early treatment is also extremely important, and may have helped keep the death rate lower, says Stephan Monroe, an expert of emerging infectious diseases at the CDC. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that out of 1,323 cases, the deaths have been 729 (death rate of 55%). However, the mortality rate of Ebola depends upon the strain that patients catch, where some are at 50%, and others are up to a 90% death rate. Immune-boosting anti-viral medicinal mushrooms a near-cure for Ebola? The Ebola virus is often a fatal disease, but medicinal mushrooms may help fight off the effects of this, or any other virus in general. These are just regular edible mushrooms (dried or cooked, never raw) such as white mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, shiitake, reishi, maitake, cordyceps, crimini, turkey tail, or a host of other excellent mushrooms that are well documented for their anti-viral, antioxidant, immune-boosting, antibacterial, anti-cancer, and even anti-tumor constituents. Medicinal mushrooms also boost the production of macrophages that attract viruses. They recruit natural killer cells that fight viruses and other foreign attackers as well. The anti-viral and immune system enhancing qualities of mushrooms like reishi (Ganoderma species, also called Lingzhi) and other mushrooms may help since people who take or eat mushrooms regularly tend to get sick less. This means less colds, flu, and possibly even viruses that cause the Avian flu (aka “bird flu”), or possibly even Ebola virus disease. Paul Stamets, a mycologist (mushroom/fungi expert) whose mother cured her cancer using medicinal mushrooms, has said regarding viral flu sicknesses, “In my work with the U.S. Defense Department’s BioShield BioDefense program, ethanol and water extracts of the living mycelium of Ganoderma resinaceum inhibited virus replication as measured by the viral yield reduction (VYR) assay of Flu A (H5N1) aka “bird flu,” and Flu B viruses. Notably, a ‘traditional’ hot water extract of the fruitbodies arising from the same mycelium demonstrated no notable antiviral activity.” (Stamets, 2008). Remember that there is currently no known cure for Ebola, even though the current experimental serum seems to be working well. Ebola has a death rate ranging from 50-90% according to experts. Infowars says the threat of this Ebola virus is played down since you have to exchange bodily fluids with someone, but that if avoiding fluids from the human body (sweat, feces, secretions, organs, blood, etc.), or even quarantining Ebola patients, then “how in the world have more than 100 health workers contracted the virus so far?” Please go to this website to place your order: www.ganolifevo.com/wwammcafe.

Ganolife Is A Better Alternative

LA the 'epicenter' of cartel money laundering
Federal authorities have seized at least $65 million in cash in a series of raids in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday. Authorities suspect the money came from Mexican drug trafficking. Around 1,000 law enforcement officials swarmed the Fashion District to execute dozens of search warrants to businesses suspected of participating in the so-called "Black Market Peso Exchange."
Authorities say this kind of exchange is common with Mexican drug rings. It happens when drug trafficking organizations collect money through U.S. through established businesses to avoid suspicion of transferring money across the border. One of the cases that triggered this investigation was a drug scheme related to the kidnapping and torture of a U.S. citizen who had fallen into debt with the Sinaloa Cartel. The cartel was using a Fashion District business to get ransom money for the release of the captive. During the raid, only nine people were arrested, but the $65 million seized came from bank accounts around the world and is said to be a part of ongoing investigations. Assistant Director of the FBI's Los Angeles Division said in a statement, the probe was meant to"send a message" to drug cartels that using American businesses for "hostage taking and the distribution of narcotics" will not be tolerated. The statement called Los Angeles the "epicenter" of money laundering in the drug trade - something that has been heavily emphasized in local coverage of the incident. But some outlets focused on the particular area where the crimes occurred. KNBC said in its headline the probe "targeted" the fashion district. KTLA called the probe a "Fashion District Takedown" in its headline and noted the incident is being referred to as "Operation Fashion Police." The American who was kidnapped is back in the U.S. after his family paid a $140,000 ransom. Those suspects arrested were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday. www.ganolifevo.com/ganoforlifeusa.

Fast-Food Workers Arrested At Protests Part 2

Fast-Food Workers Arrested At Protests 'Fight for $15' underway across the U.S. Carol KoppSep 3rd 2014 5:50AMUpdated Sep 4th 2014 2:41PM In his speech, the president repeated his call for an increase in the federal minimum wage. "There's no denying a simple truth: America deserves a raise," he said. "If you work full-time, you shouldn't be living in poverty." Vice President Joe Biden delivered a similar message at a Labor Day event in Detroit. "The American people have not walked away from what they believe they are entitled to. Just give them a chance. No handout, just give them a chance," Biden said in his speech to a union crowd. An increase in the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour has been sought by Democrats but stalled in Congress due to Republican opposition. In the absence of federal action, many state and municipal governments have moved to raise their local wages, to as high as $15 per hour in Seattle. Home care workers, who assist house-bound elderly and disabled clients, make a median wage of $10.10 an hour, with some paid as little as $8.03 hourly, according to the latest figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The median pay for fast food workers is currently $8.74 per hour. Fast-Food Workers Arrested At Protests

Fast-Food Workers Arrested At Protests 'Fight for $15' underway across the U.S. Carol KoppSep 3rd 2014 5:50AMUpdated Sep 4th 2014 2:41PM A strike by low-wage workers against America's biggest fast-food chains kicked off Thursday with the reported arrests of 19 protesters outside a McDonald's in the middle of New York City's Times Square. About 400 demonstrators chanted and waved signs, while early-morning customers streamed in and out of the giant McDonald's on West 42nd Street, according to The New York Daily News. More demonstrators were arrested in Philadelphia, Detroit and Chicago. An organization of fast-food workers planned demonstrations in as many as 150 cities across the U.S. as they continue to dramatize their demand for a pay increase to a minimum $15 an hour. Hoping to turn the heat up on more low-wage employers, the movement's organizers added another service industry to the mix: Home care workers are invited to join Thursday's protests. Workers for McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and KFC restaurants in Little Rock, Ark., Minneapolis, Minn., and Rochester, N.Y. are among those who are expected to walk off their jobs. Employees of the fast-food giants from outside the U.S. have been invited to join their American colleagues at protests in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City and Raleigh. St. Louis is one big city that will be spared protests, in light of the recent turmoil in nearby Ferguson that followed the shooting death of a young man by a police officer. Workers from St. Louis outlets have been invited to travel to protests in nearby cities. Thursday's demonstrations are the latest round in a series of protests that began almost two years ago, coinciding with a national debate over the federal minimum wage, currently set at $7.25 an hour. The group, which has been funded by the Service Employees International Union, was buoyed by a Labor Day weekend shout-out from President Barack Obama. In a speech in Milwaukee, the president noted, "All across the country right now there's a national movement going on made up of fast-food workers organizing to lift wages so they can provide for their families with pride and dignity." This is another reason why you need to take a serious look at our NEW Company...GANOLIFE! www.ganolifevo.com/ganoforlifeusa.

Serena Williams wins 3rd US Open in row, 18th Slam

Serena Williams wins 3rd US Open in row, 18th Slam Sep 7th 2014 6:45PM By HOWARD FENDRICH NEW YORK (AP) - Serena Williams ended a difficult-for-her Grand Slam season in the best way possible, winning her third consecutive U.S. Open title by beating Caroline Wozniacki 6-3, 6-3 on Sunday. Williams equaled Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova with 18 major singles titles, the fourth-most in history. Williams also matched Evert's total of six championships at the U.S. Open and became the first woman to win three in a row since Evert's four-title run from 1975-78. Williams earned $4 million, a record in tennis - $3 million for the title, plus a $1 million bonus for having had the best results during the North American summer hard-court circuit. It was a dominant performance to cap a dominant two weeks in Flushing Meadows. Not only did Williams, ranked and seeded No. 1, win all 14 sets she played in the tournament, she never even dropped more than three games in any of them. Until the U.S. Open, though, Williams had not been at her best on her sport's biggest stages in 2014. She lost in the fourth round at the Australian Open, the second round at the French Open, and the third round at Wimbledon, where a disoriented Williams also struggled through an odd appearance in doubles that was attributed to a viral illness. Back at the top of her game, Williams broke Wozniacki's serve five times and compiled a hard-to-believe 29-4 edge in winners. Remarkably, until a cross-court backhand on the run in the final game that even Williams applauded, the only winners registered by the 10th-seeded Wozniacki came on a trio of aces, one in the first set, two in the second. That was, in part, a result of the Dane's iffy play in only her second Grand Slam final - she lost to Kim Clijsters at the 2009 U.S. Open - but more due to Williams' relentless pursuit of every ball. A few weeks shy of her 33rd birthday, making the American the oldest major champion since Navratilova was 33 at Wimbledon in 1990, Williams simply would not allow a shot to get past her. Wozniacki is the one training for the New York City Marathon, but Williams tired her out by the end. Wozniacki was not exactly an extra in this Williams highlight reel, but pretty close to it. The points were being directed by Williams, whether via serves that reached 120 mph (194 kph), forceful returns that backed Wozniacki into a corner when not producing outright winners, unreachable groundstrokes from all angles or even the occasional volley. Yes, this, as might have been expected, was really all about Williams. At times, it felt as if Wozniacki were there because, well, someone needed to be on the opposite side of the net to act as Williams' opponent. They've been good pals for years, and they hung out together in Miami - heading to the beach, watching an NBA playoff game - right after both lost early at the French Open in May. Wozniacki says Williams helped her get over the end of her engagement to golf star Rory McIlroy. That friendship between Williams and Wozniacki did not matter one bit, of course, while they played Sunday with so much at stake as early evening shadows moved across the court in Arthur Ashe Stadium. As Williams put it beforehand, referring to her older sister, "If I can play Venus, I can play anybody."

Earthquake in San Francisco Bay Area

(CNN) -- A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck Northern California early Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. Eighty-seven patients have been treated or are being treated at Queen of the Valley Hospital following the early morning earthquake, according to the city of Napa. "There are three major injury cases," the city said on its website. One "young child," a girl, is in critical condition, Napa Division Fire Chief John Callanan said at a news conference. She was hurt when a fireplace collapsed. It was the strongest earthquake to hit the Bay Area since 1989, when a quake struck during the World Series. Sunday's earthquake struck 4 miles northwest of American Canyon, 6 miles southwest of Napa, and 9 miles southeast of Sonoma, according to the USGS. A water main ruptured in downtown Napa and a handful of structural fires broke out, according to the Napa city fire department. Some Napa historic buildings sustained extensive damage and at least 15,000 customers in and around Sonoma, Napa, and Santa Rosa lost power, according to Pacific Gas and Electric Company. KTVU reported that two evacuation centers have been set up in the Napa Valley Quake locationQuake location The USGS estimated, based on their locations, that 15,000 people experienced severe shaking, 106,000 people felt very strong shaking, 176,000 felt strong shaking, and 738,000 felt moderate shaking. Wine country hit "I've got a lot of broken wine, being here in Napa," said Emily Massimi, who was woken up by the quake. "We tend to collect wine, so I have wine all over my kitchen, and glass, and pictures off the wall and books off of bookshelves," she told CNN. At Silver Oak Winery, owner David Silver spent the morning cleaning up hundreds of broken wine bottles that fell off the shelves. "Those bottles were very unique," he said. They were part of his private collection and worth hundreds of dollars. "It's a tragedy, but it's nothing we can't overcome." Silver said he plans to open the winery today. The quake jolted downtown Napa resident Karen Lynch. "The refrigerator flew open and all the food fell out," she told CNN. "It was not like other quakes we have felt," Lynch said. "This was a violent quake, jolting us to and fro." There have been at least five aftershocks so far, according to the USGS, ranging from 2.6 to 3.6 magnitud
